How old is too old to be counting down the sleeps until your birthday???

Cuz... yeah, suddenly, I realized it's November, and it's almost that time!

You know, I have a wishlist!

On an unrelated note... I had to drop out of a race 8K in to it this weekend...

Last Sunday, on a training run, something 'went' in my ankle and I couldn't keep going. I ended up having to get a ride back to the starting point because I couldn't put any weight on the ball of my foot.  So after getting treatment... staying off of it for a few days, and laying low, I went out for a run on Friday night, and it felt Okay... so I was given the go ahead by the medical professionals to run the half marathon.

Well... my ankle had other ideas and just before the 8K mark, it told me that I shouldn't run any further.  Luckily, before the race, I had given myself 'permission' to drop out if there was pain, and today I am happy with that decision. My ankle doesn't feel any worse than it did before the race.  So I guess that means, while it's healing, I just need to stick to runs that are around 5K or so.

It kinda sucks having to drop out of a race I paid $50 to run... but I know it was the right decision.
